CLIM Videos: teaching material on Extreme Events
The Office for Climate Education (OCE) is a partner of the XAIDA Project. It aims to organize strong international cooperation between scientific bodies, NGOs and educational institutions to educate present and future generations about climate change, to equip them with the tools of understanding and action to protect them from preconceptions, ideologies or irrationality, and to prepare them to live in a changing world.
Since 2020, OCE is a category 2 center under the auspices of UNESCO.

The ‘CLIM’ series, developed by the Office for Climate Education in collaboration with Dorothée Adam-Mazard and the production company Inuaprod. It belongs to the series of videos from the XAIDA research project, which focuses on extreme weather phenomena.
The series was developed within the XAIDA community and is the result of collaboration between all partners and work packages.
The 8 videos focus on:
- An overview of research on extreme events:
– What is an extreme weather event?
– How does Artificial Intelligence contribute to studies on extreme weather events?
– What is extreme event management?
– What are the impacts on ecosystems? - Different types of extreme events:
– Heatwaves & droughts
– Compound Events
– Severe Convective Storms
– Extreme Cold
This educational material is based on the work of XAIDA researchers. It is an adaptation of the articles available in Open Access.
